The Legacy of The Beatles

In the video "The Legacy of The Beatles," Bob Spitz tells about the influence of The Beatles. He also tells about the breakup of The Beatles. He says that if The Beatles had reformed the band after their breakup, they would have probably not have been anywhere near as good as they were originally. He also talks about how John Lennon basicallly ran the band and was the head man. "The one thing that kept the group from going forward was that Paul just took over the band." Spitz says this when the reporter asks if John Lennon was the main key to the band.

I agree with the fact that John Lennon was the guy who held the band together. I also think he was the biggest influence in the band. I also agree with Bob Spitz's statement about the band not getting back together. They made so much influential music before they broke up that I think people would be dissapointed in their music if they were to reform the band.

The Impact of The Beatles

In Perrya's, "The Impact of the Beatles," she gives many reasons as to why The Beatles are the most influential band of all time. Unlike popular artists of the 1960's, such as Elvis, The Beatles wrote their own songs. The Beatles completely changed the sound of rock 'n' roll. There are many famous artists, such as Nirvana and Oasis, who will tell you their biggest influence was The Beatles. "Listen to pop music, whether it is a guitar lick, harmonies, song structure, lyrics, if you are the age group noted before, you know where the influence came from." This quote is basically summing up exactly how much the Beatles influenced music. The Beatles are still influencing many new bands. The Beatles influence is obvious all around us.

I think that the Beatles are, in fact, the most influential band of all time. Many people will argue that they did influence many bands but weren't the most influential band of all time. Their time period is long gone, but their music still continues to influence new bands and musicians. If you have ever listened to a Beatle's song you can immediately tell how unique their overall sound is. I believe The Beatles will continue to influence all kinds of artists no matter how much time passes.
